Raleigh has made personal commitments to support important local and global organizations, particularly those who practice social responsibility and have extensive impact. He was elected 2 times to the Keene City Council and 3 times to the Keene School Board.

City Councilor, Finance Operations and Personnel Committee, Planning Licensing, and Development Committee, New Hampshire Municipal Association Legislative Policy Committee - Energy and Infrastructure

Along with 14 other Councilors, helped prepare and manage a budget of $69 million including community input and public hearings. Operated as Board of Directors over 17 different businesses including water, sewer, parking, public works, police, fire, and a regional airport. Created municipal ordinances and policies that protected people during the Covid-19 pandemic, including one of the first mask ordinances in New Hampshire. Created ordinances and land use code that opened up housing development. Advocated for city residents in economic development and important social change matters.


School Board of Keene, New Hampshire

Vice Chair, Board Member, Liason to the New Hampshire State Schools Boards Association (NHSBA), Board Member, Liason to the New Hampshire State Schools Boards Association (NHSBA), Served on Finance, Policy, Education, Personnel, and Facilities Committees.

Along with 8 other Board Members, helped prepare and manage a budget $77 million including community input and public hearings. Board was nominated for fiscal responsibility best practice award from the NHSBA; achieving much lower cost per student driven in part by Energy Efficiency strategy. Advocated publicly through debate and public speaking with NHSBA and New Hampshire legislature for education and funding policy changes. Approved plans for key life safety, cyber security, and facilities renovation programs. Approved plans for high school curriculum updates including graduation requirements. Approved plans to change to later start times for high school and middle school students consistent with recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and several other education and health authorities.


Sahuarita Unified School District

Music Booster President, Coach, Substitute Teacher and Chaperone

Assistant Coach, Sahuarita High School Wrestling Corporate Sponsor Chair and stadium announcer for the Interstate 19 Show Down Arizona Marching Band Association state qualifying marching band competition. President, VP, Red Wolves Music Boosters 501(c)(3). Board-approved chaperone, K-8 out-of-state band trips.

The Cleantech Open Business Accelerator

Regional Corporate Partnership Chair, National Organizing Committee, and Generalist Mentor

Raised money from corporate sponsors, organized events, recruited, selected, coached, and mentored start-up companies in clean energy generation, energy storage, efficiency, building products, sustainable materials, low environmental impact chemicals, sustainable transportation, supplier traceablility, water treatment, and infrastructure. This business acceleration was international in scope and the largest of its kind in the world. Also provided rigorous investor pitch-training sessions with regional winners to prepare them for the annual Global Forum which was equated to the Academy Awards for Clean Technology. Regional winners coached became National Overall Runner Up, National Sustainability Runner Up, and National Sustainability Honorable Mention.


Toastmasters International

Global organization dedicated to adult training in communication and leadership

Outstanding Toastmaster of the Year for Division of over 300 members. Achieve rank of Distinguished Toastmaster, the highest educational certification and held by only 1% of Toastmasters. Elected Division Director, responsible for 22 clubs. As Area Director, 100% of my clubs reached Distinguished status with 3 clubs reaching the highest rank of President’s Distinguished.


Federal and International Commission dealing with US-Mexico border issues related to water   

Appointed to Citizen’s Advisory Board upon recommendation of a State Representative who served as the Arizona chapter chair. Responsibilities included researching issues of concern and adding them to the public forum meetings, serving as a panelist at the public forums, educating the public on the issues, and helping resolve tensions.


Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce

Co-Chair Economic Development Committee

Presided over economic development committee meetings and attended Chamber Board of Directors meetings. Produced “Holiday Cabaret” live radio theatre fundraiser featuring student talent, local celebrities, educational and business leaders.

Member, Marketing Committee

Serve as sounding board for office staff, CEO and board members. Key initiatives involve regional branding, website redesign, selling ad space in various publications, and increasing member engagement. Also served as panelist for State of New Hampshire’s economic development strategy initiatives.
